About Veterans Memorial Park
Exposure to the elements damaged the original structure and it was replaced. However, the names which had been listed on the original Honor Roll were not included in the restoration project, and only the names of those who “Died in Service to their Country” were displayed. The second Honor Roll was eventually removed from the park grounds.
The original panels were replicated and mounted in the Veterans Room at the Longfellow Municipal Center through the efforts of the Historical Commission. In addition to the World War II panels, the names of all who served in World War I are found on a second Honor Roll displayed in the Veterans Room.
Commemorating the service and sacrifice of Millville soliders, sailors, marines and others who served their country in all wars continues to be a significant priority among Millville inhabitants. We continue to remember those who sacrificed and gave their lives for the freedoms we have today.
